Passports

Birth Certificates must be original and, where applicable, translated into English. In the event of translations, they must be certified as true copies of the original.  

Application Procedures for passports are as follows:

Applying for a passport

  • Form
  • Sections (1), (2), (3) and (6) must be completed by all applicants. 
  • Sections (4) and (5) are to be completed where applicable. 
  • Section 7 is to be completed by the Parent or Legal Guardian of an applicant under age 16. 
  • Section 8 is to be completed by an applicant aged 16 and over. 
  • Section 9 is to be completed by the recommender, who is expected to have known the Applicant for a period of no less than 2 years. The Applicant is required to use a Recommender who has an official office stamp, which must be affixed in the box to the right of that section. 

Where applicable, for any documents authenticated by the St. Kitts and Nevis UAE Embassy there is a fee of xxxxxx per certificate required. 

A separate FedEx Fee of xxxxxx is required to forward the completed application to the Capital.

Passport Renewals

Documents Required for Passport Renewal (Adult Applicant):
• Original passport of the Applicant
• Original Certificate of Registration of the Applicant or legalized copies (by lawyer or notary public)
• Original Birth certificate (from the country of birth) translated in English and certified.
• 3 recent passport size photos (2 photos to be stamped at the back by the recommender who will sign andstamp at section 9 of passport application form: doctor, legal practitioner, financier, Banker, School teacher or headmaster or any person of similar).
• Passport application form (the recommender section 9 to be signed by doctor, legal practitioner, financier, Banker, School teacher or headmaster or any person of similar)

Documents Required for Passport renewal (Minor below 16 years):

• Original passport of the parents or legalized copies (by lawyer or Notary public)
• Original Certificate of Registration of the parents or legalized copies (by lawyer or notary public)
• Original passport of the Applicant
• Original Certificate of Registration of the Applicant or legalized copies (by lawyer or notary public)
• Original Birth certificate (from the country of birth) translated in English and certified.
• 3 recent passport size photos (2 photos to be stamped at the back by the recommender who will sign andstamp at section 9 of passport application form: doctor, legal practitioner, financier, Banker, School teacher or headmaster or any person of similar).
• Passport application form (the recommender section 9 to be signed by doctor, legal practitioner, financier, Banker, School teacher or headmaster or any person of similar)

• International Bank Draft of 250 USD or 350 USD, cheque to be addressed to “Accountant General of St. Kitts andNevis”.
• Cash of 730 AED for courier charge.
• Any attestation/ Legalisation needed or suggested by the Embassy will cost 370 AED each document.

• Applicant must provide an authorisation letter to the person applying on their behalf.
• International Bank Draft must be paid in USO currency.

Re-Issue

Between the years 2010 – 2014, passports issued excluded the data field “Place of Birth”. Those passports were recalled for re-issuance commencing 10 December 2014, at no additional cost to the applicant. This initiative continued through 31 December 2015 and was further officially extended until 31 March 2016. The Passport Office continued to facilitate persons until the third quarter of 2016. 

In May 2017, The Ministry of National Security wrote to all Holders of St. Kitts and Nevis passports that excluded place of birth and advised that their passports would be deactivated, and holders will be required to bear the cost for the re-issuance of a new passport. 

Under 16

  • Any other document as may be required *We are unable to refund the fees for an application that has been unsuccessful or withdrawn. 

16+

  • Completed Application Form XXX fees in stamps  
  • Two (2) passport sized photos  
  • Birth Certificate of applicant  
  • Certificate of Citizenship (if applicable) 
  • Old passport (if applicable) 
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicant wishes to carry the surname of the spouse) 

Citizenship by Investment

  • Completed Application Form  
  • Fees in stamps xxxxxx 
  • Two (2) passport sized photos of the applicant. 
  • Birth Certificate of applicant  
  • Certificate of Citizenship  
  • Old passport (if applicable) 
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicant wishes to carry the surname of the spouse) 
  • Decree Absolute (if applicant wishes to revert to maiden name) 
  • Any other document as may be required *We are unable to refund the fees for an application that has been unsuccessful or withdrawn 

Damaged Passports

  • Documents Required for Damaged Passport:
    Affidavit of Damaged Passport
  • 4 Recent Passport size photos (2 to be signed and stamped at the back by
    recommender who signed the section 9 of the application form)
  • Original Certificate of Registration] Certified Copy
  • Original damages passport
  • Complete and signed passport recovery form
  • Complete and signed passport Application form
  • Birth Certificate Copy (Translated in English and Certified)
    *if the Applicant is underage of 16 years the parents must:
    – Sign the passport Application form and Passport recovery form
    – Provide Original Certificate of Registration / Certified copies
    – Provide Original Passport / Certified Copies

Fees:

  • International Bank Draft of 500 USD cheque to be addressed to: ACCOUNTANT GENERAL OF ST. KITTS AND NEVIS
  • Cash of 730 AED for courier charge.
  • Any attestation needed or suggested by the Embassy will cost 370 AED cash each.

Note:

  • Applicant must provide an authorisation letter to the person applying on their behalf
  • International Bank Draft – be paid in USD – Currency.

Lost/ Stolen Passports

Documents Required for Lost /Stolen Passport:

• Police Report
• 4 Recent Passport size Photos (2 to be signed and stamped at the back by Recommender who signed the section 9 of the application form)* Please refer to the list of qualified recommenders in the l’t page of passport application form
• Original c_er:tificate of registration
• Copy of Lost Passport
• Birth certificate (to be translated in English and certified)
• Completed and Signed Passport Recovery Form
• Completed and signed Passport Application Form

*If the Applicant is underage of 16 Years the Parents must:

-Sign The Passport Application Form
-Provide Original Certificate of registration
-Provide Original Passport

• Cash of 730 AED for courier charge

Signatures

  • Please note that all Applicants aged 8 and older are required to sign in the signature box located on the first page of the applications form. 
  • Signature must be centred and cannot touch the lines of the box.

Photographs

  • Applicants are required to provide two copies of a recent photograph.  
  • These photographs should be taken full face, without a hat, on a neutral solid background (no teeth should be showing).  
  • Black and white photographs are not acceptable.  
  • The size of the photographs is  1.77” x 1.38” (45mm x 35mm). 
  • The same Recommender (who completes page 4 section 9) must endorse the reverse side of two of the photographs with the words: “I certify that this is a true likeness of the applicant Mr./Mrs./Miss …….……………………………” (printing the applicant’s full name) and add the recommender’s signature and official stamp. 

Recommendation

Section (8) should be completed by the person verifying the declaration of the applicant. The recommender should be a member of the National Assembly, Nevis Island Assembly, Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, Minister of Religion, Medical or Legal Practitioner, Senior Civil Servant, Senior Bank Official, Gazetted Police Officer, or any person of similar standing PERSONALLY ACQUIANTED with the applicant. Members of immediate family are not eligible.  

Other Requirements

The other requirements are: 

  • A notarised letter/affidavit stating that facts relevant to the loss 
  • A certified copy or original of the required documents and two photocopies of either one. 

*Incomplete application forms which require additional information will be returned to the applicant or his/her representative at the applicant’s cost.
